Never send money
No genuine marriage seeker will ask you for money, gifts, gift cards, crypto, bank details or help with travel or medical costs. If anyone asks, stop replying and report them.
Keep personal details private
Use the in-app chat until you trust someone. Don't share your address, workplace or financial details early on.
Involve your Wali early
Add your Wali to conversations. A sincere person will welcome family involvement.
Meet safely
Video call first, then meet in a public place with family present.
Report and block
If something feels wrong, block and report. Reports are private.
1. Halal courtship guidance
- Keep your intention (niyyah) for nikah clear from the first message.
- Keep conversations purposeful: deen, family, goals, expectations and lifestyle.
- Avoid flirtatious, intimate or private conversations, and avoid being alone together (khalwa).
- Involve your Wali or a trusted family member, and seek advice from people of knowledge.
- Make istikhara and take your time; there is no need to rush a decision.
2. Warning signs of a scam
- Asking for money, gifts or financial information, for any reason.
- Pushing to move to WhatsApp, Telegram or another app straight away.
- Refusing video calls or making repeated excuses not to meet with family.
- Declaring strong feelings very quickly or pressuring you to commit.
- Stories that don't add up, or photos that look like a model or celebrity.
- Sending links, investment opportunities or requests to verify your account.
3. How to report
Open the member's profile or your conversation, tap the ⋮ menu and choose Report. Pick a reason, add details, and attach a screenshot if helpful. You can also Block the member, which hides you from each other and ends the conversation. Our team reviews every report; urgent safety reports can hide a profile straight away while we investigate.
4. Your privacy tools
Photos stay blurred until you exchange albums, and you can hide them completely. You can pause your profile at any time or use invisible mode, and contact details are hidden in new conversations. Screenshots of other members are discouraged and may lead to suspension. Manage these in Settings.
